After mobility

Welcome back to the University of Amsterdam

We hope you had a wonderful experience studying abroad at another institution. How does it feel to be back? Are you finding that being home again is more difficult than you anticipated, or have you made the transition back with ease? Do you think you learned a lot and gained better insights about yourself? Are you missing the international vibe? Whatever your feeling is, below you will find a couple of suggestions to help you unpack and capitalize on your experience.

Attend a Welcome Back Event

Join this event to figure out how you can incorporate everything you learned abroad and successfully re-adjust to your life here at the UvA. Talk to the experts of the Student Careers Centre, the international office and ESN Amsterdam and discover the value and long-term benefits of your study abroad experience.

Online support After your Mobility Experience

Make sure to also check out our helpful online courses to improve the impact of your study abroad experience. They will help you utilize your study abroad experience to boost your career, share your study abroad experience as a student ambassador, and help you deal with the effects of the culture shock of being back home.

Study Abroad Canvas

Please also check the study abroad wiki page and your programme specific canvas pages to learn about some of the practical aspects you need to do to conclude your study abroad experience. It will inform you about obtaining your academic transcript and help you with course approvals. If you are an alumni of one of our other international opportunities, you will be informed about after mobility practicalities via email.

Share your study abroad experience

The stories and photos from students who experienced a study abroad adventure are a valuable source of information for future students who are considering to apply for a study abroad programme. We therefore encourage UvA students to share the beauty they experience with the wider Amsterdam student community. Alumni of our other international opportunities cannot submit their testimonial via portal below, but will be invited via email instead.
