When you apply for a partner university, you need to make sure that the courses you want to follow are within the department/faculty that the UvA has an agreement with. For instance, if you are a sociology student but you would like to apply for a University under the list of Anthropology partners, this means that you will need to choose the courses from the Anthropology department. It could be possible that at some partners, you can choose one or two courses from a different department/faculty but please be aware of this when you choose your destination.
Also make sure that you meet the right language requirements before applying to a partner University so you will not be surprised. For instance, if you are applying for Universities in Spain or Italy, you will need to proof that you have the right language skills to be able to follow courses in the language of teaching.
To prepare well and do research on the admission criteria of the partner, is the students' responsibility.
