The Office of International Student Affairs (BIS) is the central international office of the UvA, and engages in worldwide student mobility, facilitates (international) student involvement (including the award-winning UvA Exchange Ambassador Programme), administers scholarships and collaborates with academic units and faculty international offices to create and cultivate engaging strategic global collaborations.
In an effort to mitigate the risk of transmission of the Covid-19 virus in our community the Office of International Students Affairs is working remotely until 1 June 2020 and their services have moved online.
For general questions about studying abroad, please contact the Central Student Service Desk. If your question is too complex they will schedule a 10-minute telephone appointment with a study abroad expert of the Office of International Student Affairs.
Due to the measures related to Covid-19 pandemic, the workshops and info sessions are cancelled until further notice.
Instead the Office of International Student Affairs (BIS) helps you on your way through weekly virtual Q&A sessions (or group chats) every Thursday from 13:00 to 14:00 (CET) via Zoom (download the Instruction manual Zoom, 1 p.).
When workshops and info sessions will be offered face-to-face again, they will be announced on this study abroad website at Events, or check the Overview of information sessions and workshops.
The UvA is closed on national holidays and during Christmas week/New Year's Eve. For an overview, follow the link below.
