The Office of International Student Affairs (BIS - Bureau Internationale Studentenzaken) is the central international office of the UvA, and engages in worldwide student mobility, facilitates (international) student involvement (including the award-winning UvA Exchange Ambassador Programme), administers scholarships and collaborates with academic units and faculty international offices to create and cultivate engaging strategic global collaborations.
The Office of International Student Affairs will be closed for consultation hours and non-urgent questions per email during the Summer Holiday between 15 July and 15 August 2021. We will reopen the consultation hours on 16 August. For urgent matters that absolutely cannot wait you can still email firstname.lastname@example.org. Please, clearly explain the matter and your phone number in case we need to reach you. We will decide on a case-by-case basis whether it is necessary to schedule an appointment or whether we can answer you per email.
In an effort to mitigate the risk of the Covid-19 virus in our community, the services of the Office of International Students Affairs have moved online for the entire academic year 2020-2021.
For general questions about studying abroad, please contact the Central Student Service Desk. If your question is too complex they will schedule a 10-minute telephone appointment with a study abroad expert of the Office of International Student Affairs.
Monday-Friday, from 09:00-17:00, +31 (0)20 525 1401
If you have already been placed in the Global Exchange Programme and have access to the "Canvas Course", you can book a phone consultation appointment yourself via the "Contact Us" page on Canvas.
