Immerse yourself in Chinese language and culture, while exploring current topics and developments in the corporate telecom sector by applying to the Huawei Telecom Seeds for the Future programme.
Telecom Seeds for the Future is a two-week programme which gives students the opportunity to immerse in the Chinese language and culture, and to gain a deeper understanding of current topics and developments in the corporate telecom sector. Huawei developed the worldwide ‘Telecom Seeds for the Future’ programme in cooperation with more than 60 leading universities and local partners.
The collaboration between Huawei and the University of Amsterdam dates back to 2014, when the first 15 UvA students were selected to pack their bags for a trip to China. Since then, dozens of top UvA students have immersed themselves in the two week Huawei Telecom Seeds for the Future programme, visiting both Beijing and the Huawei campus in Shenzhen.
All selected students are invited for a pre-departure Kick Off Ceremony in July, giving participants the opportunity to get to know Huawei and meet fellow interns.
The two-week internship starts with a week-long intensive introduction to Chinese culture and language at Beijing Language and Culture University. Participants will get insight into the way business is done in China, and learn what it means to live and work in China.
The second week of the internship is focused on a training programme at Huawei Headquarters in Shenzhen. Chief engineers will deliver presentations on various topics such as 4G connections, LTE devices, managing broadband and several other topics. Students will be divided in smaller groups to work on case assignments that will be presented to Huawei staff in the Netherlands.
Students who meet the following criteria are invited to apply.
