Participating in the Erasmus+ Exchange will give you the chance to get to know another country, a new culture and language. Living and studying abroad will enrich you with new and exciting experiences. Application for the Erasmus exchange in 2018-2019 will be open from February,1st untill March,1st, 2018. Please find the available universities on the page 'Erasmus destinations'.

All Economics & Business students can study abroad

In most cases you can choose which courses you would like to take (non-economics courses are also possible at some universities). Find out more about the Erasmus Programme via the links below.

Bachelor's students

You must have obtained at least 90 EC for an Erasmus exchange and at least 120 EC for a bilateral exchange at the moment of departure, including the first year of the BSc.

Master's students

The study abroad semester will take an extra semester after having finished all obligatory courses of the master's programme. You are allowed to study a semester abroad if you have finished your 60 EC curriculum (including all mandatory courses and the thesis) within 12 months. So graduation for your master's programme will take 1.5 years instead of 1 year.

Master's students of Accountancy & Control, Actuarial Science and Mathematical Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Econometrics, Business Economics and Finance can study abroad within the QTEM Exchange Programme.

What is the best time for an exchange?

  • You can study abroad in the therefore available semester in the third year of the bachelor's programme. Most bachelor's programmes have this semester available. The advantage is that you can study abroad AND won't have any delay in graduation. Look at the online course catalogue to see which semester of the third year of the specialisations have this opportunity.
  • If you are a student of the specialisation Economics and Finance of the Bachelor Economics and Business Administration, or of the Bachelor Fiscale Economie, there is no semester available in the bachelor's curriculum to study abroad, but it is also possible to study abroad. The exchange semester will take an extra semester after the bachelor's programme. So graduation for your bachelor's will then take 3,5 years instead of 3 years.
  • If you have missed the opportunity in the third year of your bachelor's programme, you can go on an exchange after you have fullfilled all the requirements of the programme, by adding up an extra semester. So graduation for your bachelor's will then take 3,5 years instead of 3 years. Students who have met all requirements for the bachelor's programme in 3 years have an advantage in the selection procedure for this extra semester abroad.
